How to apply Diamond Clear like a professional
Diamond Clear is used to fill scratches in the clear coat and give the car a beautiful shine.
Pro tip: To see if it works, apply water or a cleaner to the area. If the scratch disappears temporarily, Diamond Clear is working.
What you need
- Diamond clear;
- Apply with a cloth/microfibre cloth;
- Clean (isopropyl alcohol, lacquer, thinner or medium thinner).
1° – Cleaning
Clean the entire panel(s) of the area you wish to repair. We recommend the use of isopropyl alcohol, varnish, thinner or medium thinner.
2° – Apply Diamond Clear
Using a microfibre cloth or other application cloth, spread about 1/4 ounce (give or take) over the entire panel. Make sure you have coated from edge to edge.
3° – Smoothing the diamond clear
Use a microfibre cloth to ensure that the coating is evenly distributed over the slab. View the slab from different angles to identify and correct any defects.
4° – Deep scratches
For deep scratches, wait until it is dry (4-6 hours) and repeat steps 2 and 3.
